John and Joe DeCicco arrived in New York from Italy with something most new arrivals don't bring: an education in food. Not formal—just the kind that comes from growing up around markets, learning what a ripe tomato smells like, and understanding that what ends up on the family table matters. They opened their first store in Ardsley in 1973 with that instinct intact, and it quickly became something the neighborhood recognized and counted on.
What started as a small family shop has since grown into nine locations across Westchester County, each one running by the same standards the founders set. Now in its second and third generation of family leadership, DeCicco & Sons remains one of the most trusted names in New York grocery—known for beautiful produce, gourmet prepared foods, and a team that actually knows the products on the shelf.
